Community Standards

1. A Global Haven for Bespoke Craftsmen

The heartbeat of Obyọma extends far beyond our software—it lives in our vibrant WhatsApp and Telegram community connecting tailors, fashion designers, pattern makers, and garment ateliers worldwide. Tailoring can often feel like a solitary, high-pressure craft. We created this community as a shared sanctuary where artisans from Lagos, Aba, Accra, Nairobi, London, and ateliers around the globe come together to share real-world experiences, exchange trade tips, and help each other build resilient, profitable businesses.

2. Daily Goals, Motivation & Peer Accountability

Running an active cutting table and managing tight customer deadlines can be mentally and physically demanding, especially during festive rushes and wedding seasons. In our community, we set daily production tasks, share morning motivation, and hold each other accountable to our atelier milestones. Whether you are cutting your first three-piece agbada of the week or delivering a fifty-garment bridal order, we celebrate each other's progress and help fellow tailors overcome creative fatigue.

3. Genuine Wholesale Supplier Recommendations

Finding dependable textile merchants, quality thread suppliers, genuine zippers, durable interfacings, and trusted sewing machine technicians is one of the greatest hurdles in fashion production. Our community relies on honest, peer-verified recommendations: tailors helping tailors find authentic wholesale sellers at fair market prices. Members must only recommend merchants they have personally tested and trust. Covert advertisements, deceptive reseller schemes, or unverified seller promotions are strictly barred to protect fellow tailors from financial loss.

4. Knowledge Sharing & Generous Mentorship

We welcome tailors of all backgrounds—from veteran master cutters with forty years behind the shears to self-taught designers opening their first shop. Our community thrives when experienced artisans generously share finishing techniques, collar drafting tips, and customer management advice with rising creators. In turn, newer members bring fresh perspectives on digital marketing and modern silhouettes. We uphold a zero-gatekeeping culture where thoughtful questions and honest lessons from mistakes are warmly welcomed.

5. Respectful Group Culture & Anti-Spam Guidelines

To preserve a focused, productive atmosphere across our official WhatsApp and Telegram channels, we enforce strict communication standards: no spam broadcasts, no chain forwards, and no off-topic religious or political debates. Unsolicited private direct messaging (DMs) to group members without their explicit permission is strictly prohibited. We treat every member with dignity, regardless of workshop size, production volume, or geographic location.

6. Community Moderation & Safety

Our volunteer moderators and community leads work continuously to ensure our spaces remain safe, constructive, and inspiring for every artisan. Any member engaging in abusive language, payment scams, IP theft, or deceptive practices will be removed immediately. If you encounter any concern or need assistance within our community groups, reach out to an active group administrator or email us directly at obyoma@support.com.
